Michael
I'm a DevOps engineer who builds things on the side. My day job is infrastructure, pipelines, and making sure production doesn't have a bad time. My nights and weekends go toward shipping web apps, a co-op game that's probably too ambitious, and writing about all of it here.
I care about systems that are reliable, code that's readable, and projects that actually finish. This site is one of them.
Skills
Timeline
Launched letmecook.engineer
Built and deployed this portfolio site. Because every engineer eventually builds their own site.
DataCommand — Government Pipeline Monitor
Shipped a real-time data pipeline monitoring UI for government data ingestion workflows. Full-stack: Next.js frontend, Python backend, PostgreSQL.
CompoundVice
Launched a dark editorial savings calculator that shows users the long-term cost of their habits. First project to gain organic traffic.
Senior DevOps Engineer
Moved into a senior IC role, taking ownership of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and platform reliability for a production environment serving thousands of users.
Started in DevOps
Transitioned from a generalist dev background into DevOps. Started building automation, learning Terraform, and discovering how much I enjoy making infrastructure boring.
Outside the Terminal
F1 on race weekends, EVE Online when I want to feel productive while doing nothing useful, strong coffee always, and co-op games with friends when schedules align.
